Understanding Client Points in Dental System
Dental System client points (or Additional Seats) allow to add an additional software package seat on an existing dongle - i.e. to open a software on multiple PCs using the same dongle.
I. How to check client points count for your Dental System subscriptions:
Go to Dental System Control Panel > Subscription Management (Dongle) to see how many points do you have for each of the modules:
Or go to Dongle Server Service (by typing localhost:27027 in your browser search line) to see extended information on your client points count:
II. How are client points taken and released?
Each time a module is being opened on a new PC which is connected to a certain dongle, a point of this application will be taken. Opening several windows of the application (e.g. several design cases) on the same PC will not take additional points.
The PCs that take an application client point will be shown as IP addresses on the Dongle Server Service status page. An example of Dental Manager being open on 2 PCs using the same dongle will look like this:
As soon as application is closed on on of the PCs, it's IP address will disappear from the connection list and the point will be released.
III. Important notes:
- Some of the designs will require client points from multiple applications. e.g.
- Single implant cases: 1 point of DentalDesigner + 1 point of Abutment Designer
- Implant bar/bridge cases: 1 point of DentalDesigner + 1 point of Abutment Designer + 1 point of Implant Bars/Bridge Design
- Dental Manager Inbox module points count represents the number of unique sites that can send the orders to your site via Manufacturing Inbox.
