3Shape Dental System - 3Shape Design Service Button Update

Starting on September 30th, 2024, the 3Shape Design Service integration button will no longer function for Dental System versions older than DS2021.2.2.

We recommend upgrading to the latest version of Dental System to ensure continued use of the integration.

Important: If you have a D series scanner, please review the following article to confirm compatibility with newer Dental System versions before upgrading to a latest version.

A new version of the the Design Service Button is now available, to ensure smooth operation and avoid any issues when sending cases, it's important to keep your integration updated.

Service Update: Button Services Instability

We wanted to inform you that our development team has been rolling out updates to the button services, which may result in some temporary instability. If you’ve already completed the update and are experiencing issues, we recommend trying a couple of times. Should the problem persist, please use the drag-and-drop method to send your orders.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to stabilize the service. We're confident these errors will resolve soon as the updates take full effect.

Follow these steps to perform the update on your server.

1. Open the control panel on your server.

2. Navigate to the Download Center within the control panel interface.

3. Locate and click on the "Download Libraries" option.

4. Find and select the 3Shape Design Service Plugin from the list.

5. Choose the “Import Materials” option to proceed.

6. Save your changes and close the window. The Dental System should automatically restart.

How to use the 3Shape Design Service Button

• Open Dental System
• Select/ Highlight the order(s) you would like to send to 3Shape Design Services 
• Click the 3Shape Design Service Button 
  
   
   
• In the dialogue box that pops up, add your 3Shape username and Password (this is only done the first time you send an order) 
  
• Confirm that you want to send the order(s) 
  
• The 3Shape Design Service Platform will launch in the browser where you can see your order(s) and modify as necessary (require design approval, etc) 
   
   
• Click submit on the 3Shape Design Service Platform and you’re finished! Note: The order(s) should join any other pending orders you have on the platform in the “sent for design” category.
