Wi-Fi Disconnection Errors When Connecting Wireless Scanners on PC/Move/Move+
24/12/2024Wireless scanners used with PC, Move, or Move+ devices may encounter Wi-Fi disconnection issues during setup or operation. These scanners are often equipped with a TP-Link adapter, which acts as a signal receiver and can also detect Wi-Fi networks. To prevent connection conflicts during scanner setup, ensure the adapter is configured correctly.
Solution: Upgrade the TRIOS Module
The primary solution is to upgrade the TRIOS module to a higher version. This can resolve compatibility and configuration issues that might be causing the Wi-Fi disconnection errors.
Workaround (If Upgrade Is Not Possible)
If upgrading the TRIOS module is not feasible, an alternative solution is to disable wireless auto-configuration for the TP-Link adapter to prevent it from continuously scanning for networks. Follow these steps:
Open PowerShell as Administrator
Type the following command: netsh wlan show interfaces
This will display the available adapters and their names.
Locate the TP-Link adapter name in the list. In the example output, it might be listed as "Wi-Fi 3," but the name can vary depending on your specific system.
Disable auto-configuration for the adapter by typing: netsh wlan set autoconfig no “Wi-Fi 3”
Verify that the change has been applied by typing: netsh wlan show autoconfig
This should stop the adapter from scanning for networks and prevent disconnection issues.
Additional Troubleshooting
If the problem persists, try selecting a different Wi-Fi channel by navigating to: Settings > TRIOS > Scanner Management
If you're using a TRIOS Wireless Scanner with Handle, you might be encountering the POGO issue. Refer to the relevant troubleshooting article for detailed instructions.
If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, the scanner hardware itself may be faulty. Run hardware diagnostics tests to determine the next steps.
By following these solutions and workarounds, you should be able to resolve the Wi-Fi disconnection errors and ensure smooth operation of your wireless scanner.
