How to install a .dme file manually in 3Shape Unite
09/11/2023In 3 Shape Unite it is possible to import .dme files, these files are used to import materials and accessories into the software, for example materials that are not available in the system and are not reflected in the order form when creating a case, these files can be imported manually in the following location.
Click on "More" then "Settings" then select "Import and Export" and finally "Import" here you will see the "add" option where you can manually search for the DME that contains the materials you require.
Select the .dme file. Make sure that the file name is shown in the File Name field and click Open.
The necessary materials should be loaded into the system and can be selected in the order form for the lab it has been assigned in settings.
NOTE: It is possible to install .dme files provided by an external company in those cases the only requirement will be the file format. This DME files must be acquired from the manufacturer, and the user must contact them in order to receive it or download it from their website to the system that has the 3shape software installed. Issues might occur with this type of external DME's, and in order to get these issues please contact the DME provider.
NOTE: Keep in mind that if you have any of the Milling Machine available in CAM Server the DME of the materials are automatically installed when installing the milling machine and it is not necessary to import them manually.
