Windows 10 end-of-life - what it means for 3Shape systems

Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. After that date, there will be no technical support, security updates, or reliability fixes from Microsoft for devices running Windows 10. 

In the following article, you can learn which 3Shape products are affected, what the end of support means for those systems, and how to check if your product is already running Windows 11 and therefore is not affected.

What does this mean for your 3Shape product?

If you are using a TRIOS 3 Cart, TRIOS MOVE or an older TRIOS MOVE+ system on Windows 10, your product will still run and receive supported 3Shape software updates for now. However, without Microsoft`s security updates, the system may become vulnerable and non-compliant with local regulations. Please check the 3Shape Software Lifecycle Policy for more information.

Can my product be upgraded to Windows 11?

TRIOS 3 Cart, TRIOS MOVE, and older TRIOS MOVE+ systems are not eligible for a Windows 11 update. These systems use processors that aren’t supported by Microsoft for Windows 11 and cannot be upgraded remotely.

However, newer MOVE+ systems are already running Windows 11 and are not affected.

How to check if your MOVE+ is affected

There are two versions of the MOVE+. To check which version you have, look at the label on the back of your MOVE+ screen, as shown in the following photo:

• If your serial number looks like this: 1ZCyyww100xxxB, your MOVE+ is affected and is not eligible for the Windows 11 update.
• If your serial number looks like this: 1ZCyyww200xxxB, your MOVE + is not affected and is already running Windows 11.

What about TRIOS laptops?

• All laptops currently sold through 3Shape’s PC catalog (version 25.x) already run Windows 11.
• If you’re using your own PC with TRIOS, it may still be eligible for upgrade – depending on the hardware. Use Microsoft’s PC Health Check tool to check compatibility.
