Collecting Network and Console Logs for Support
05/08/2026Providing your browser's network and console logs can aid in resolving some issues. This LMS Help Center article will show you how to collect the logs. A video of the process is located at the bottom of the article.
Note: Chrome is the only browser that fully supports LMS. The example below is from Chrome. Accessing the tools is the same from any browser, but there might be some slight differences. For example, “Developer Tools” is called “Web Developer Tools” on Firefox.
- From the same tab where you're experiencing the issue, open the developer tools in one of the following ways:
- Click the F12 key on your keyboard
- Click the Ctrl, Shift, and i keys at the same time
- Open them in the browser settings under More Tools > Developer Tools

The tool will open in a slider window (drag the pane to view all the options).
- Use the gear or click F1 Shift and ? keys at the same time to open the developer tools settings. Do not deselect anything already checked, but you might need to select some additional options.:

- Under Preferences > Network verify the following are selected:
- Preserve log
- Record network log
- Disable cache will DevTools is open

- Under Preferences > Console
- Under Preferences > Console verify the following are selected
- Network messages
- Timestamps
- Autocomplete from history
- CORS errors in console
- Treat code evaluation as user action
- Automatically expand console.trace() messages

- Close the Developer Tools settings by clicking the X

Slide the panel to make it smaller DO NOT close the Developer Tools
Continue using the LMS as you normally would. Once you've navigated to all the places you're having problems, and have duplicated the issue, expand the Developers Tools page again.
- Select the network tab Network
- Use the download icon (Or right click anywhere in the Events List and select Save as)

- In the file name, include your lab name and the support case number if you have one.
- Select HAR File
- Click Save (note what folder on your computer the file is being saved in)

- Click on Console
- From anywhere in the Events List, right click

- In the file name, include your lab name and the support case number if you have one
- Select Log File
- Click Save (note what folder on your computer the file is being saved in)
Include the files with your support ticket. Depending on the size, you might need to send them in a zip folder, email each separately, or share them with the support agent from a cloud-based folder like Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.
