Old lab scanner support guide
This article describes the possibilities of software upgrades, hardware support, and PC purchase for old lab scanner models. The below information is applicable to:
- D200 and D250 scanners
- D640 scanners
- D700 scanners with serial number = Cxxxxxxxx
- D710 scanners with serial number = Dxxxxxxxx
- D700 scanners with serial number = Hxxxxxxxx
- R700 scanners with serial number = Sxxxxxxxx
- D710 scanners with serial number = Ixxxxxxxx
- D800 scanners
- D810 scanners
- R500
- D500
R700 scanners with S/N = Sxxxxxxx are all MKII scanners and the support policy is the same as for D700 MKII and D710 MKII. For more information, refer to the article “D & R-series scanners discontinuation policy”.

Hardware Support Possibilitites
- Can I have my old scanner repaired?
No, repair of the old scanner models is not possible. If a hardware issue that cannot be fixed remotely is confirmed by 3Shape Support, please contact your reseller/provider, a 3Shape Sales Manager or sales@3shape.com to inquiry regarding scanner trade-up possibilities.
- Can I purchase a new PC for my old scanner from 3Shape?
3Shape is no longer offering PCs compatible with old scanner models. The customer should buy a new PC from alternative PC vendors according to the requirements or go for a scanner trade-up to be able to purchase a new PC from 3Shape. Please contact your 3Shape Sales Manager or sales@3shape.com for scanner trade-up possibilities.
