Difference between multi-step and 1-step manufacturing
21/10/20243Shape LMS users can choose to manufacture cases in two different ways:
1) Multi-step: build a production line with separate tasks so lab staff can move cases forward. Always know the precise location of all cases. Multi-step also provides more detailed technician productivity reporting. Generally speaking, labs consider using this manufacturing approach with 5 or more technicians.
2) 1-step: simplify manufacturing by only checking cases into and out of production. There are no tasks in 1-step manufacturing. Smaller labs tend to use 1-step to simplify workflow (and it's easier to know where cases are in a small lab). .
