How to Find a 3Shape Lab Scanner in Device Manager and Update the Scanner Drivers

Locating scanner in Device Manager

After ScanSuite (the scanner manager application that is installed alongside the 3Shape Dental System/3Shape Unite software applications) is installed and connected to the PC it will appear in Windows Device Manager under Imaging Devices.

Opening Windows Device Manager

Using the Run dialog

Step 1: Press "Win + R".

Step 2: Type devmgmt.msc.

Step 3: Press "Enter".

Using the Windows taskbar

Step 1: Right-click the Windows button on the taskbar.

Step 2: Select "Device Manager".

Updating the Scanner Drivers

Lab scanner drivers are installed automatically during ScanSuite installation.

If the drivers were not installed correctly or need to be updated manually, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open "Device Manager" and locate the scanner.

Step 2: Right-click "3Shape 3D Scanner".

Step 3: Select "Update Driver".

Step 4: Select "Browse my computer for driver software".

Step 5: In the driver location field, enter the applicable path:

• C:\Program Files\3Shape\ScanSuite\USBDrivers
• C:\Program Files (x86)\3Shape\ScanSuite\USBDrivers

The applicable path depends on the installed software version.

Step 6: Click "Next" to install or update the drivers.
