What is DentalHealth App?

3Shape DentalHealth App is a mobile application designed to give patients easy access to their intraoral 3D scans, diagnostic visualizations generated by 3Shape TRIOS and Dx+, and personalized oral-health insights.
Through interactive 3D models and AI-powered visual cues, patients can better understand their oral condition and follow their dentist’s recommendations between visits.

FAQ for Patients

 

Q: How do I log into the app?
A: When you open the app for the first time, you will be asked to log in using your Apple or Google ID. No new usernames or passwords are required, and you remain anonymous.

 

Q: The link you sent me is not working — what do I do?
A: Try opening the link again. If it still doesn’t work, please check if your device is compatible.

 

Q: I can’t see my scans in the app.
A: Check your internet connection. Wait a few minutes for the scans to download.
If the scans don’t appear after 5 minutes, contact your dentist to have them re-shared.
 

Q: I can’t find recommendations for my dental routine.
A: Go to the Routine tab and complete one of the surveys to receive recommendations.

 

Q: Are my scans safe in your app?
A: Yes. Scans are securely stored and protected by your device’s unlock mechanism. You can also enable Face ID by long-pressing the app icon and selecting Require Face ID.
 

Q: Who has access to my data?
A: Only you can access the scans. Your dentist has the original versions in their clinic.

 

Q: The app is taking a long time to load my scans.
A: Ensure your device has a stable internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps).


Q: The dental camera keeps freezing — what do I do?
A: This is normal. The dental mirror freezes the image on purpose so you can inspect it easily.

 

Q: The app keeps crashing.
A: Reboot your device. If the issue continues, reinstall the app.

 

Q: Which dentist can I visit to get this?
A: We recommend dentists who use 3Shape-enabled technology.

 

Q: Where does the advice come from?
A: It is based on trusted dental health sources, such as the American Dental Association.

 

Q: Why has my tooth wear worsened since my last scan?
A: Tooth wear can have many causes. For clarity, please visit your dentist.

 

Q: How do I make sure my caries does not evolve?
A: Good hygiene is important, but causes vary. Please consult your dentist for personalized advice.

 

Q: Can I see my scans from different clinics/dentists?
A: Yes, the app supports scans from multiple dentists.

 

Q: How can I see my scan in the app?
A: Your scans appear in the Scan tab if your dentist has shared them. If not, ask your dentist to share them again.

 

Q: How do I get a new scan?
A: Visit your dentist to receive a new scan.

 

Q: Who can see my dental information?
A: Only you can view your information in the app. Dentists see only the original clinic scan.

 

Q: Can my dentist access my data from the app?
A: No. Dentists cannot access your in-app data.

Q: I can't complete the workflow and send to the patient.
A: Ensure the patient’s name, phone number, and health conditions are filled in, and you have internet access. 

Q: My patient is not receiving their scans in the app.
A: Please make sure that you have filled out the patients phone number correctly and try again.


Q: The software is freezing
A: Please reboot your PC and the software.


Q: What is the workflow from creating a patient to sending information?
A: Enter the Dx+ module in Unite and perform a scan.

Press SHAREShare With Patient.

Select health conditions.

Enter patient name and phone number.

Press Send.
