What's New in TRIOS & Unite 25.2

We are thrilled to share the 25.2 software update with you. This update introduces Dx Plus, an AI-assistive software for objective detection of the most common oral health conditions, and DentalHealth app, which helps patients understand their dental health and enable at home guidance. 

This update also includes many new functionalities and improvements. Highlights include new Automate indications, and the ability to easily switch between your favorite 3Shape Accounts with ease.

Redefining diagnostics with Dx Plus

Exclusively compatible with TRIOS 6 scans, it’s now possible to deliver reliable, trusted experiences with AI-assistive Dx Plus, redefining diagnostics for accurate, objective identification of key oral health conditions – including proximal1 and surface caries, plaque, tooth wear and gingival recession. Get started with Dx Plus - AI assistive diagnostics for objective, consistent results

Dx is a new, dedicated application within the Unite platform, designed to bring AI-supported diagnostics into your daily workflow and support you in your clinical decision making. 

Getting started is easy, you can simply select Check-up scan from the actions overview in Unite or as a follow-up action after completing a scan with your TRIOS 6. Once opened, Dx automatically begins analyzing your scan and displays a color-coded, AI-generated overlay directly on the scan, highlighting detected findings of the selected oral health condition, for example gingival recession. 

Additionally, with Dx Plus you stay in full control with supporting tools:

• Zoom in to AI results to gradually fade the AI overlay and reveal the raw TRIOS 6 scan underneath - making it easier to visually inspect the site and understand what AI has highlighted.
• Edit the AI results or even remove them by clicking on detected area to open an edit pop-up and make desired changes.
• View AI confidence level of each finding giving you the transparency and insight how certain the AI is about its prediction. 

Inspect, detect, and compare changes over time

With AI models trained on thousands of scans, Dx Plus not only reliably identifies surface caries, tooth wear, gingival recession, and plaque, but also:

• Provides insight into their severity, helping you understand the progression of the pathology.
• Allows you to manually compare changes over time, helping you to visualize and manually identify changes in your patient's oral health, with automatic documentation readily available.

Reduce documentation, all scans and findings automatically stored

With Dx Plus you can generate a diagnostic report with all AI findings in one place. Once created, Dx report is automatically saved to cloud storage and becomes accessible in the Patient Media Library in Unite and Unite Cloud (web & mobile app). This allows you to review your patient's results anytime, from any device.

Additionally, the report is also automatically stored in your Practice Management System, ensuring all your patient data is available in one place. See below for more information how to generate the report.

Share Dx Plus visualizations and scans with your patient

To better support patient understanding and engagement beyond your clinic, you can easily share Dx Plus results with your patients to take home with the new DentalHealth app directly from Dx Plus. 

Additionally, you can also share other scans with your patients from the Patient Media Library in Unite and Unite Cloud web and app. 

Redefining patient communication with DentalHealth app

DentalHealth ap empowers patients to co-own their dental health. It gets patients involved and invested in their dental health, every step of the way. Drawing on Dx Plus-powered visualizations, the app brings patients tailored, on-demand education and tracking so that they can understand their progress, providing a patient experience like no other. It is free and available on both iOS and Android. 

Automate in Unite now supports inlays/onlays - bridges coming soon

You can now use Automate for AI-powered designs of inlays and onlays. Start a new case with the updated Automate Restorations app (previously known as Automate Crown) and in the order form select crown, inlay/onlay, or mixed crown and inlay/onlay case. The workflow has been improved to automatically advance to the next step after downloading a design, when applicable. 

Coming soon: Bridges will be available in the Automate in Unite workflow later this year

Set favorite accounts and instantly switch between them

In larger clinics and DSOs where multiple team members work under the same company, quick and seamless access is essential. With the new account favorites functionality, you can mark your most used profiles and rearrange avatars, ensuring the right accounts are always easy to find and appear first at log in. You can personalize the account sequence on each of your devices.

Switching between accounts is now instant and no longer requires restarting the software, helping you avoid delays during busy clinical hours. Each account is also clearly represented by its avatar in the toolbar, making it easier to confirm you are working under the correct profile. 

Choose favorite accounts, rearrange them to your preferences and instantly switch between them - no restarts.
