Working with iTero™ orders in Dental System
23/09/2025Dental System is capable of recognizing various elements from an imported iTero order, including margin line data, abutment information (mappings), and order details such as customer information and comment fields. This enriched data import allows for a more streamlined and accurate design workflow.
In contrast, a basic STL scan import does not transfer any of this metadata—it only provides raw geometry. As a result, iTero order import is significantly more beneficial, offering deeper integration and reducing manual input during case setup.
To import an iTero™ order into Dental Manager:
4) In the dialog box, choose iTero™ Order Import.
5) Click OK to begin the import.
In Dental System 2025, the performance of iTero™ case imports has been significantly enhanced through a redesigned algorithm. This improvement reduces the import time to under 30 seconds per case in most situations, compared to the longer durations seen in previous versions.
This enhancement marks the first step in a broader optimization roadmap, with additional improvements to the iTero™ case import planned for the coming quarters.
