VDDS Interface
14/11/2025VDDS Interface
The VDDS-media interface is a standardized specification developed by the VDDS e.V. (Verband Deutscher Dental-Softwareunternehmen, or Association of German Dental Software Companies) for exchanging digital objects - such as patient data, images, and other media - between dental practice management software (PMS) and imaging or diagnostic systems.
3Shape Unite 23.1 and newer supports the VDDS media version 1.4 for automating patient management, providing seamless workflows and limited media exchange to save time and avoid manual errors.
Please note that an overview of official integrations and setup guides can be found here.
The VDDS Interface is delivered via a dedicated module (Web Service module) within 3Shape Unite. Release notes for the Web Service (PMSWEB) Module are available here.
In addition to Command Line Interface; VDDS and a modern Web Service interface are also available.
