How to enable Ivoris integration with Dental Desktop

See here for directions regarding Unite instead.

Prerequisites for the integration: 

• Dental Desktop 1.7.19.x or newer is installed. 
• Ivoris analyze 8.2.29.X or newer is installed. 
• Dental Desktop client and Ivoris should be installed on the same computer.  
• Both standalone and client-server setups are supported, see Known Limitations.

3Shape TRIOS on Dental Desktop and Ivoris (PMS) integration provides automation of Patient Management in Dental Desktop from Ivoris (Create, merge and update patient) for faster and easier managing patient data.  Read more about Ivoris here.

How to enable the integration in Unite

Check requirements (see Prerequisites above) and update your dongle and 3Shape Dental Desktop if needed.

In 3Shape Dental Desktop, go to More > Settings > Software integrations > Practice Management Integration > Setup.  Click the checkbox next to "Enable" under "VDDS Interface".

Select VDDS as the integration type.

Navigate to Patients to save changes.  Press Yes.

You have now enabled the interface used for the integration in 3Shape Dental Desktop. Now you can proceed with enabling the integration in Ivoris software.

How to enable the integration in Ivoris

Please consult Ivoris documentation. The following steps are provided as an aid to set up and use the integration in Ivoris software.

Open Ivoris > go to Röntgenauftrag/Datenabgleich (triangle icon on the screenshot) and select 3Shape Dental Desktop > Ok.

When clicking Ok, Dental Desktop will start and create a new patient or open an existing case.

You now have enabled the integration.

Known limitations

• Ivoris client and Dental Desktop must be installed on the same computer.
• Both standalone and client-server setups are supported (from Dental Desktop version 1.7.19.1), but the integration currently does not support Dental Desktop server-client installation on TRIOS MOVE/MOVE+, as installing PMS client on TRIOS MOVE/MOVE+ is not supported.
• Patient updates are only propagated from Ivoris to Dental Desktop. Not the other way around.
