Notification message "Scan streams (raw data) not available anymore" on 3 Shape Unite when clicking on the scanning tab and it is grayed out.
Cause
The main cause why this happens, is because the streams (actual recordings of the scans\raw scan data) are no longer on the computer. The streams last 45 days after a case has been post-processed/ sent. After this time, they are automatically converted into DCM files, which are never deleted and cannot be edited. If a case is not post-processed nor sent, the streams will last 90 days before being deleted.
Solution
To avoid the cleanup of the streams for a specific case, it is necessary to protect the case from cleanup. However, this is only recommended with cases that are going to be used for an extended period, because if it is done for all cases the free space will run out pretty fast.
The steps to protect a case are:
- Go to the cases tab in 3 Shape Unite.
- Select the 3 points of the case you want to protect.
- Select the option "Protect from cleanup".
After doing these steps, the streams for the specific case will not be automatically cleaned and they will stay on the system until they are manually deleted.
Please let the customer know that with the DCM file the scan can still be previewed and sent but without editing.
