Introducing Unite 24.1 & Unite Cloud

We are extremely proud and excited to introduce the 3rd generation of 3Shape Unite, it is the biggest software update we have released for many years. Unite 24.1 brings all scans in the cloud, access from anywhere and Unite Cloud.

  1. All scans in the cloud: TRIOS scans and patient data are stored and encrypted in the cloud. 
  2. Access from anywhere: Scans, patient data, and licenses are available from the cloud on any device, any time. Dongles and client server installations are no longer needed.
  3. Unite Cloud: A brand new and cloud based mobile app and web platform. Stay up to date, add photos, comments, communicate and track case progress. GDPR and HIPAA compliant. 

Dongle is no longer needed: Your licenses are moving into cloud

From 3Shape Unite 24.1 onwards, your 3Shape licenses will live in the cloud of your 3Shape Account company and can be used by all members of your company on all 3Shape Unite devices. This means no more broken or lost dongles, and client server installations. 

 

Move the licenses from your dongle into cloud

Once you update to Unite 24.1, we’ll automatically transfer the licenses for your 3Shape Unite apps from any detected dongles on your device to the cloud

Note: Only licenses of Unite compatible apps will be moved into cloud. Other 3Shape software licenses will remain on the dongle (e.g. Dental System and Ortho System).

        

 

Activate your licenses in the cloud

Later in 2024, when you purchase your next TRIOS scanner or one of the 3Shape apps, you will no longer receive a dongle. Instead, you will receive a 16-digit activation code, that you type in 3Shape Unite as shown on the image below. 

        

View your licenses in 3Shape Unite Store

You can find your licenses included in your active subscriptions on the License page within 3Shape Unite Store. 

Note: Only licenses of Unite compatible apps will be moved into cloud. Other 3Shape software licenses will remain on the dongle (e.g. Dental System and Ortho System).

In the Licenses page, you can perform the following actions:

  • Activate newly purchased licenses by clicking “Activate” button.
  • Transfer licenses from your dongle to cloud by clicking “Activate” button. 
  • Manage licenses you bought from 3Shape directly by clicking “Manage” button. You will be redirected to 3Shape web shop where you can perform further actions. If your licenses were purchased through a reseller, please contact them directly for assistance with subscription management.

All scans are available in the cloud

With your consent to enable cloud storage, you can see which of your patient’s cases you have synchronized to the cloud, and which are yet to be encrypted and stored in the cloud. Knowing whether the case has been synchronized to the cloud will not only give you peace of mind, should something happen to your device, but it allows you to access the case from cloud on any other device.

 

Have peace of mind in knowing your patient’s cases will be easily accessible for you should something happen to your device. 

Cloud storage for your patient data ensures security and accessibility. In case of device issues, your data remains safe, enabling uninterrupted care. and flexibility for access from any device with an internet connection.

Access the cases of your patients from any device. 

Your patients and their cases are always accessible via your 3Shape account in the cloud. Whether you are in your typical operatory or moving between rooms, the flexibility of accessing this data from any device with an internet connection ensures your practice remains seamless and efficient.

Collaborate with your colleagues on shared patients from anywhere.

Collaborating with colleagues on shared patient cases enhances decision-making and patient care, ensuring information flows seamlessly, minimizes errors, and increases efficiency, ultimately improving patient outcomes. You can easily access cases on different devices when devices are connected under the same company.

New global system icons

Global system icons are designed to provide you with valuable information on your internet connectivity and general cloud storage status. 

All cases are synchronized with cloud: This icon assures you that all your patients and cases are securely synchronized with the cloud. It means your information is consistently up to date, ensuring you have the most accurate and accessible records at your fingertips.

Synchronizing cases with cloud: This icon is a signal that your patients and cases are being actively stored in the cloud. This protects your work, making it accessible from anywhere, while safeguarding against data loss.

Lost connection with cloud: This icon helps you stay aware of any interruptions in your connection with the cloud. It ensures that you are promptly informed when a potential issue arises, allowing you to act and maintain a seamless workflow.

Wi-Fi: This icon is a visual cue that you are connected to a wireless network. It enables you to work or access your patients and cases are online conveniently, offering flexibility and mobility in your daily tasks.

Cable internet: This icon signifies a stable and high-speed internet connection through a wired network. It delivers reliability and faster data transfer, which is essential for seamless and efficient online activities.

New cloud icons on cases

Getting your patient’s cases safely secured in the cloud will be quick, and in each of your patient’s cases you are informed the current state. 

Case is synchronized with cloud: Your patient's case is up to date, ensuring that you always have the latest information readily available.

Uploading case to cloud: We are actively saving your recent changes, making sure your hard work is securely stored in the cloud and accessible from anywhere.

Conflict: More versions of the case: This icon suggests that there are multiple versions of the patient's case, and there might be conflicting changes or edits made by different users. You will be asked to review the case and choose which one you want to continue working with.

Update available: Newer version exists in the cloud: Stay informed with the most recent data, enhancing your ability to provide the best possible care to your patients.

Locked: When the case is locked, it means another user is actively working on the patient's case. This prevents simultaneous editing and ensures data integrity.

        

Cloud and local storage settings in 3Shape Unite

Find a full overview of cloud and local storage settings and choose the setup that fits your needs best, in the new 3Shape Unite settings page under More -> Storage management

Note: Only users who have Windows and company admin rights can configure the settings. The change might influence the full company set-up. Additionally, any change in this setting will require 3Shape Unite to restart.  

Cloud storage 

When you update to 3Shape Unite 24.1 and sign the user agreement, all your TRIOS and patient data, and licenses will be uploaded to cloud of your 3Shape Account company. The amount of cloud storage depends on if you are on the TRIOS Care service plan or not. TRIOS Care customers have 10 TB of cloud storage available, whereas TRIOS Only customers have 10 GB of FREE cloud storage(1). You can always see how much cloud storage you have available in the settings.

Additionally, you can enable or disable data synchronization with your company’s cloud storage. We recommend that you keep it enabled to fully utilize the benefits.

Local storage 

In case you would like to continue to store data locally, you can configure an existing server PC or/and any other PC to function as a local storage hub with ‘Use this device as local storage’ setting. Make sure you have sufficient disk space before setting up a local storage device. 

Sync options 

In case disable cloud storage or you simply want to make sure your data is shared through the local network across devices choose ‘Sync between devices’.  

In case several devices act as local storage, you can assign a PC as your primary storage, so all data synchronization is managed through it. 

Note: Any data that is deleted in the network, will also be deleted on the local storage device. 

Data back up 

You can manually backup your 3Shape Unite data to an external hard disk or USB by using ‘Export data to the drive’. To start the process, select a location for the backup file and the software will notify about completion and any issues. 

On the contrary, you can also import backup data. 3Shape Unite will synchronize it with your device data.

(1) CliniCare customers receive 10 TB cloud storage, while users without a TRIOS license do no have access to cloud storage.

Improved Media filters in the Patient media library

3Shape Unite now remembers your preferences when it comes to what media types you want to see in the library. For example, if you deselect images they will not be shown until you select them again. 

 

 

 

Order dentures together with other types of indications

You can easily order full dentures, partial dentures, or other types of indications in one combined order through our guided order form. This streamlined process ensures you get precisely what you need, tailored to your patients' unique requirements.

Automatically generated case instruction for the lab

When handling multiple dentures within a single case, an automatic case instruction will be seamlessly incorporated and sent to the receiving lab, offering clear guidance for case design. This streamlined process preserves precious time, reducing the need for additional communication.

        

New way of moving cases to another patient

Now you can easily clean up your duplicated patients and move scans and cases under one patient. Click on the three dots on a case and choose ‘move to patient’ and select the ‘right’ patient. Once all cases are moved, 3Shape Unite will prompt you to delete the ‘empty’ patient if you wish. 

        

Improved overview of your lab connections and how to connect with a lab

In 3Shape Unite Store you will find a new section ‘Lab connections’. The tab ‘My connections’ will give you a complete overview of your active and pending lab connections and you can perform the following actions: 

  • Connect with a lab clicking ‘Add connection’ button. You can search for a lab by their name, address, email address and phone number. Once your lab connection request is approved, you will be notified.
  • Remove a connection with a lab by clicking ‘Disconnect’ button. 
  • Cancel a connection request by clicking ‘Cancel request’ button. 

You can browse the full list of available labs, filter by service (e.g., crown and bridge) in the ‘All labs’ tab. Search for labs by their name, address, email address or phone number.

        

Introducing Practice Management Integrations

Take advantage of 3Shape Practice Management Integrations for seamless workflows starting and ending in the Patient Journal – saving time, avoiding manual errors and providing easy access to patient media.

The patient is automatically created/updated and selected in 3Shape Unite directly from the patient chart saving you time and ensuring correct patient information. Available with all Practice Management Integrations.

Easy access to patient media directly from Journal

Convenient patient centric access to any patient media, 2D images, PDFs, thumbnails, scans directly from the chart/journal. Availability pending Practice Management system implementation of new capabilities.

Patient merge has been improved with ‘fuzzy’ search technology to improve the relevant list of candidates, for example Charlie Doe and Charly Doe. Available with all Practice Management Integrations.

Introducing 3Shape Unite Cloud

3Shape Unite Cloud is a completely new cloud-based and patient centric software accessible on any device – mobile, tablet, PC and Mac. Everything you do in 3Shape Unite instantly becomes available in 3Shape Unite Cloud, and vice-versa. Thus, allowing you to always stay up to date on your cases, easily attach images, track case progress, and communicate with your lab.

Manage patients and cases anytime, anywhere, on any device

Get access to all your patients and cases

All your patients from 3Shape Unite will now be visible in the 3Shape Unite Cloud in the ‘Patients’ tab. You can access all cases and files associated with a patient including their details. Additionally, you will find all your cases, regardless in which status your cases are and see their status and delivery dates. Upon opening a case, you will in detail see scans and other media, order details, as well as who created, modified, and received the case. 

                  

Add, edit and delete your patients 

Adding patients in 3Shape Unite Cloud will allow you to front-load administrative work. In case of any mistakes, you can edit patient details or even delete patient and associated data with it. Any change you make in 3Shape Unite Cloud will be reflected in 3Shape Unite. 

Attach pictures to patient profile  

You can quickly take and add pictures to your patient’s profile with your mobile or tablet using the 3Shape Unite Cloud app. Pictures will immediately appear in 3Shape Unite, for you to start your Engagement Apps workflow.

Compliant messaging
