AI Bite Alignment: Automatically aligns upper and lower jaw scans—even when bite scans are missing or inaccurate—using a trained AI model. This saves time and ensures reliable occlusion setup, with visual previews and manual fine-tuning available.

Messaging System to Reduce Interruptions: Replaces blocking error dialogs with subtle, non-intrusive notifications that appear in the corner of the workspace. This allows technicians to stay focused on design tasks and resolve issues only when necessary, significantly reducing workflow interruptions.

AI Margin Lines in Copy Denture: The system now automatically detects and draws margin lines based on tooth anatomy in copy denture workflows. This reduces manual adjustments and speeds up the design process, while still allowing for manual refinements.

Improved Post & Core Workflow: Undo/Redo functionality has been added to the Post & Core design step, allowing users to reverse specific actions without restarting the entire design. This boosts confidence and productivity by enabling flexible experimentation.

Cancel Long-Running Operations: Users can now cancel ongoing calculations mid-process, such as feature builds or transitions between design steps. This prevents delays and allows for quick corrections, improving responsiveness and control during design.

Faster Thickness Map Calculation: Thickness maps now update in real time during sculpting, thanks to GPU acceleration. This provides immediate feedback, smoother workflows, and better visualization for fixed restorations.

Infrastructure and case management

• Redesign Order Opening Issue Resolved: Resolved an issue when it was not possible to open orderfor redesign after changes were made in Order form
• Invalid 3Shape Communicate Orders Cleanup: Fixed issues with cleaning up invalid 3Shape Communicate orders in the Control Panel to ensureconsistent and error-free removal
• Deactivated Profiles Removal: Deactivated profiles are removed from operators list on the order form 
• Printable Order Form Optimization: Printable order form has been optimized to fit all text
• Delivery and Shipping Dates Correction: Fixed incorrect delivery and shipping dates in Order Form printed from Dental Manager , they are now custom
• Material Selection for RPD Orders: Fixed an issue where the selected material for RPD orders was not saved and reverted to the first item in the list. Now, the chosen material is retained correctly
• Client PCs Performance Drop: Performance drop on client PCs after server name change is resolved
• ITero Order Import Speed: ITero order import has been speeded up
• 3D Viewer PLY Formats Support: Support for additional PLY formats has been added to 3D viewer
• Custom Database Preservation: During the update of Dental System, any custom database instances and settings are preserved and reused
• Dental Manager Slowdown Fix: Slowdown of Dental Manager when Communicate has pending connections is fixed
• Reliable Case Transfer: Fixed issues that occasionally caused delays when sending cases to manufacturingvia 3Shape Communicate, ensuring a more reliable transfer process
• Cloud Licenses Information Page: A new information page for Cloud Licenses has been added to Dental Manager, allowing users to view license status

Fixed restorations

• FDA Validation Error: Fixed an issue where modifying an already designed order caused validation errors. Now, you can modify cases after designing them without any problems.
• Closing Dental Designer: Resolved an error that occurred when closing Dental Designer after adjusting the incisal pin setting in the Virtual Articulator.
• Microsoft MSXML Error: Fixed the “Microsoft MSXML not installed” error in Dental Designer 2024, ensuring the workflow can be completed without issues.
• Smile Composer: Addressed a problem with failing minimum thickness calculations when trying to open Smile Composer.
• Margin Line Generation: Corrected the generation of margin lines for cases with the die scanned in the model.
• Custom Screenshots: Fixed an error that occurred when saving custom screenshots.
• Virtual Articulator: Resolved an issue where the “Adapt design” feature in the Virtual Articulator was not always activated.
• Trimming Feature: Stabilized the trimming feature to prevent boundary errors when entering the step.
• Implant Bridge Exit Profiles: Improved the reliability of the implant bridge exit profiles step to prevent errors and ensure consistent performance.
• Access Violation Error: Fixed a rare access violation error that occurred when starting the design.
• AI Annotation Points: Improved the consistency of AI-placed annotation points, reducing the need for manual adjustments.
• Distance Map: Fixed an issue where the distance map was not updating correctly or remained visible after being turned off.
• Scan Artifacts: Resolved a performance issue with the “remove scan artifacts” functionality.
• Save Step: Fixed an access violation error that occurred during the save step for some implant bridge cases.
• Bridge Connection: Improved the connection of the bridge when connectors have self-intersections.
• TRIOS HD Photos: Ensured that TRIOS HD photos from the TRIOS 5 scanner are displayed and transformed correctly.
• Cut Bar to Gingiva: Improved the functionality of the “cut bar to gingiva” feature

Removables design

•  Library Type Change: You can now change the library type when a denture is ordered for only the lower jaw. 
• Smile Selector: Smile Selector now supports changing the full arch library when only posterior teeth are ordered in a partial denture. 
• Error Fix: Fixed an issue where some cases showed the error “Cannot project spline on surface” when opening for re-design.

Resolved Issues

Dental Manager

•    Fixed 3Shape Automate plugin buttons disappearing in Dental Manager after installing Dental system.
•    License connection loss under network load is fixed.
•    Fixed order filters when two versions of Dental Manager extensions are installed. The order is shown in the list.

Resolved Issues

• Fixed an issue where License Service did not start after PC startup.
• Fixed the cause of Unite modules asking to enter user credentials every time when started from Dental Manager.

AI powered designs from Automate available in Dental System:  With the introduction of Automate AI design proposals in Dental System, eligible cases will automatically receive a design proposal.

Cloud License in Dental System: We are transitioning from physical dongles to cloud license, which gives a clear overview of the purchased software and enables seamless updates and remote access to the Dental System licenses.

Resolved Issues

CAD design

• Resolved errors like “Duplicates are not allowed” and “Runtime error” when using Virtual Articulator’s “Adapt designs” feature.

Removables design

• Fixed errors when reopening cached orders with multiple sculpt operations and “Occlusion Map” enabled.
• Positioning guide now aligns correctly in Full Denture workflows after modifications of occlusion in Virtual Articulator.
• Bite Aligner now properly aligns to the upper jaw in Full Denture workflows after changes of occlusion in Virtual Articulator.
• Resolved issues with cache in denture orders.
• Restored the “Snap to Surface” button in the Trim Upper/Lower Jaw step.
• Resolved issues with CAM output files when using “Desired distance to gingiva” for RPD orders.
• Teeth are being now correctly generated correctly in CAM for dentures in DS 2024.
• Fixed corrupt CAM output files for artificial teeth in RPD orders with Ivotion material.

Digital Model design

• Atlantis workflow now creates MB Preparation scans correctly.

Installer & Control Panel

• Fixed an issue with firewall configuration during installation.
• Dental System now can be installed without the dongle and will be automatically switched to Cloud License.
• Resolved “Access Violation” error when adding scan flags to new implant kits in Control Panel.
• Fixed missing DCM files in exported DME when the library includes STL models.
• Resolved an issue where first run configuration would not start after clean DS-2024 installation.
• Fixed export errors for DME files in server configurations for DS 2024

Dental Manager

• Systems with SQL 2005 are now blocked from upgrading to avoid compatibility issues.
• Fixed CAM file generation errors during auto-accept in the Manufacturing Inbox.
• 3ShapeCommunicate service startup has been optimized and does not require manual restart.
• Fixed “3Shape Dental Manager Service is unavailable” error for PCs with non-Latin names.
• Web links added as 3rd party apps now appear as application icons in Dental Manager.
• Resolved an issue preventing the License Service from starting on client PCs with cloud licenses.
• Resolved an issue with unrecognized ScanSource of orders received in the 3Shape Communicate Inbox.
• Fixed an error showing “This functionality requires a Premium license” when using Copy & Reuse CAD design without a Dental Designer module.
• Resolved “The order is corrupted” errors when exporting scans in orders received via 3Shape Communicate.

scans and models, ensuring high-quality results.

Bite Memory in Virtual Articulator: The bite memory function in the Virtual Articulator allows you to save any jaw position as a new occlusion,
facilitating the design of complex cases with multiple bites.

AI Supported Design: The new AI algorithms in Dental Designer automates routine operations, such as occlusal plane positioning and annotation point placement, allowing you to focus on the final restoration design.

Caching for dentures: The caching significantly enhances the design workflow by saving the results of each intermediate step.

Improved responsiveness: The ability to “Cancel” build has been introduced to a denture workflow.

Distance Map Tool: The improved distance map tool for all indications and improved algorithm allows you to select any visible model for comparison, providing real-time distance visualization and enhancing quality control during design.

AI enhancements for Copy Dentures: The new AI algorithm for the Annotations Points feature in the Copy Denture workflow enhances efficiency by automatically analyzing dental scans and placing annotation points on each tooth.

Digital accuracy for teeth in RPD workflow using sculpt toolkit: It is now possible to adjust the denture teeth geometry during the design phase using the new Sculpt toolkit.

Scanning Healing Abutments integration: The new scanning healing abutments workflow allows the use of “3-in-1” healing abutments, simplifying the process of designing abutments based on the shaped gingiva.

Integration with 3Shape LMS: Integration with 3Shape LMS reduces the need for double data entry by synchronizing case information between lab case management and Dental System, minimizing errors and saving time.

Improved Scan refinement: The scan refinement feature now automatically analyzes and fixes problematic areas in IOS and 3rd party desktop scans, with an improved interface for user control.

Reduced loading time for Dental Manager and order form: The libraries loading speed in Dental Manager, Control Panel and design modules has been significantly improved, boosting overall performance in both case manager and the order form.

Improved Virtual Articulator: The Virtual Articulator has been enhanced with new functionalities, allowing for better simulation of jaw
movements and occlusion settings.

Improved QC finalized denture design: The latest update to Dental System introduces enhanced visibility tools for denture workflows,
including a new “Monoblock” visibility slider.

• CAD points deduction for MB impressions scans has been fixed.
• The preview link for orders received via 3Shape Communicate is re-generated after it expires.
• Clone system and restore backup options were stabilized.

• Installation process has been split into application installation and material update for better integrity.

• The issue with marking connectors during waxup bridge design has been resolved.
• Enforce wall thickness feature on finalize step has been optimized.

• The issue when occlusion differs in 3D preview from design once the case is designed and closed has been resolved.
• It is now possible to select different reference models in temporary crown design.
• Exit profile visibility option for screw-retained crowns has been added to Smile Composer.

• New spline edit mode for implant bridge exit profiles has been introduced.
• Scanbody used during alignment is now shown in design, instead of scanbody from library.

Removables design

• Resolved issue when blocking wax was visible event if it was removed completely from the scan.
• It is now possible to re-open a case designed with libraries that are not enabled on a dongle.
• Select all button does not select finishing line and retention grid for stippled wax in RPD.
• Fixed Access violation when clicking Next if ‘Draw window’ tool is enabled in Customized Impression Tray workflow.
• Improved blocking wax algorithm.
• It is possible to set blocking wax as reference for sculpting teeth on Smile Composer for RPD+Crown/Anatomical pontic.
• Removed Double-prep/Waxup button in order form for dentures indications.
• It is now possible to send case with copied design via Communicate to another lab or to a clinic.
