Key licenses configuration requirements for multi-site setups

This article outlines the summary of key requirements for configuring your licenses in multi-site use depending on your software type e.g. dongle or cloud based. 

• Dongle-based software: Licenses must be used within 800 meters of the physical dongle.
• 3Shape Account site/company scope: Each 3Shape Account site/company encompasses its users, teams, connections, licenses, and data.
• Cloud-based software: A single 3Shape Account site/company can cover co-located addresses within 2000 meters.
• Cloud license flexibility: Employees/users of a specific cloud license/site can work from home or while travelling without any distance restriction, as long as their official place of work is the specified site.
• Multiple locations: If the lab and clinic are more than 2000 meters apart (cloud-based license), they require separate accounts and subscriptions for each site.
• Final point: Hence, if the lab and the clinic are not located within 2000 meters of each other, these will have to have separate 3Shape Account sites/companies and separate subscriptions/licenses. However, as an employee/user of any of these, they are still allowed to work from anywhere (legal/regulatory limitations still apply).
