How to enable Cares Chairside integration with 3Shape Unite

Prerequisites for the integration:

• 3Shape Unite version 21.1 and higher 
• CARES Chairside 3.2 and higher 
• dme: find always the latest «Trios send to CARES Chairside» .dme file on the Straumann Connectivity homepage. Use the filter «3Shape – Dental Desktop» to find it easily. 

How to enable the integration in Cares Chairside

1. Open Windows Powershell using the Windows search function.
2. Run PowerShell as administrator, by right mouse click on «Windows PowerShell».
3. Type in Get-NetIPv4Protocol
4. Check if «MulticastForwarding» is disabled. It needs to be enabled.
5. Type in Get-NetIPv4Protocol –  MulticastForwarding Enabled.
6. Check if «MulticastForwarding» is now enabled by typing in again Get- NetIPv4Protocol.

How to enable the integration in Unite  

1. Go to “More” > “Store”
2. Navigate to Straumann section and find Cares Chairside integration.
3. Click “Install” button.

          4. In a new pop-up window, click “OK” and you will be redirected to the settings page. 

          5. Add new Connection to  «CARES® Visual Chairside» via «+ New»

          6. Select the desired system to be connected and click «Connect»

How to add new .dme file in 3Shape Unite

Find the latest «Trios send to CARES Chairside» .dme file on the Straumann Connectivity homepage. Use the filter «3Shape – Dental Desktop» to find it easily. 

1. In Unite, go to More > Settings> Import and export > select “Import”
2. Select «Straumann CARES Chairside.dme» or «Straumann CARES Chairside US.dme» for US
3. Unselect «In-house» and select  «Station»

How to send Cases from 3Shape Unite

1. Go to «Patients» and create «New Case»
2. Select «CARES®Chairside» connection from “What are you doing today” window.
3. Fill out the order form and click «Next»
4. Proceed with TRIOS scanning
5. After post process and reviewing in  «Analyze page», press «Send»
6. Case is automatically imported in CARES®Chairside

Known limitations:

• Information such as patient information, dentist information, material, indication and attachments are transferrable
• Margin line and insertion axis are not transferred from TRIOS
• Tooth color measurements, material color and comments will be transferred as pdf file, find it as attachment
• Note: Please check first in CARES Chairside which indications, materials, implants and Variobases/Ti-Bases are available before sending cases from Trios to CARES Chairside
