🎓Restoring a Backup Using the 3Shape Dental System

This article provides instructions for restoring a system backup using the 3Shape Dental System Installer.

Prerequisites

Before restoring a backup, verify that the Dental System version installed on the computer matches the version contained in the backup.

Step 1: Open the backup folder.

Step 2: Locate the "[backup file name]_version.xml" file.

Step 3: Open the file and identify the Dental System version from the Dental Manager version information.

Step 4: Verify that the same Dental System version is installed on the computer before proceeding with the restoration.

Restoring the Backup

Step 1: Run the Dental System Installer as Administrator.

Step 2: Select "Custom Upgrade".

Step 3: Proceed through the installer until the customization options are displayed.

Step 4: Select "Restore Backup" as the installation type.

The "Restore Backup" option restores a previously created local backup, including settings, customizations, and other system configurations.

Step 1: Select the backup file to restore.

Step 2: Review the backup contents displayed by the installer.

Step 3: Click "Continue" to start the restoration process.

After the restoration process has completed successfully an appropriate message is displayed.
