How to Restore System Backup in 3Shape Dental System

This article provides instructions for restoring a system backup in 3Shape Dental System. It is possible to restore a backup through the installer during the installation. 

How to Restore Backup with 3Shape Dental System Installer

Step 1: Check backup version

1.1 Check file [backup file name]_version.xml in the backup folder to find out what version of Dental System was backed up - check by Dental Manager version.

1.2 Make sure that the same version of Dental System as in the backup is installed.

Step 2: Specify the Installation Settings

2.1 Run Dental System installer as administrator.

2.2 Begin by selecting the Custom Upgrade option during the installation process.

2.3 The program will prompt you to customize your settings.

2.4 During the Custom Upgrade process, choose the Restore Backup installation type. This option allows you to restore your previous local backup of the system, including settings, customizations, and other essential configurations.

Step 3: Choose the Backup File to Restore

3.1 The system will prompt you to select the backup file you want to restore.

3.2 After selecting the desired file, the system will display the contents of the backup.

3.3 Confirm your selection and press Continue to initiate the restoration process.

Completion Message

After the restoration process is successfully completed, the following message will appear:

"Your system was successfully restored."
