Wireless Service interface is blank on Windows 11 25H2 systems

23/12/2025

We have received several reports where the software repeatedly asks the user to connect the TP-Link device, even though it is already connected. This behavior is caused by an issue with the 3Shape Wireless Service and its missing system dependencies.

This problem is a known bug and is tracked under JIRA ticket BM-8066. Please make sure to link any related cases to this bug:
https://jira.3shape.com/browse/BM-8066

When this issue occurs, the following symptoms can be observed:

  • The software prompts the user to reconnect the TP-Link device even though it is already connected.
  • When accessing the Wireless Services page at:
    http://127.0.0.1:8000/3ShapeWirelessService/
the page appears completely blank, as shown in the attached image.
  • The 3Shape Wireless Service does not have any configured dependencies.
  • Restarting the Wireless Services temporarily resolves the issue.
  • However, after shutting down the computer and turning it back on, the problem returns.

Root Cause

The issue occurs because the 3ShapeWirelessService is missing required Windows service dependencies. Without these dependencies, the service does not initialize correctly after a system reboot, causing the TP-Link connection to fail.

Temporary Workaround

Restarting the Wireless Services can temporarily restore functionality, but this is not a permanent solution, as the issue will reappear after a system shutdown.

Permanent Solution

To permanently resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Configure Service Dependencies

Open PowerShell with administrator privileges and run the following command:

sc.exe config "3ShapeWirelessService" depend= "WlanSvc/Winmgmt

Step 2: Restart the Wireless Service

  1. Open Windows Services.
  2. Locate 3Shape Wireless Service.
  3. Click Restart.

Step 3: Verify Dependencies

After restarting the service, confirm that 3Shape Wireless Service now has the following dependencies:

  • WLAN AutoConfig (WlanSvc)
  • Windows Management Instrumentation (Winmgmt)

These dependencies ensure that the wireless functionality initializes correctly.

Validation

To confirm that the issue is fully resolved:

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Wait approximately 10 minutes.
  3. Turn the computer back on.

After startup, the system should no longer request to reconnect the TP-Link device, and the scanner should connect automatically.
