What will happen with licenses on the dongle after they move into cloud?
Licenses for 3Shape apps in 3Shape Unite will be automatically set to expire in 4 weeks on the dongle once they have successfully moved into cloud. Note that the licenses will exist in cloud with their real expiry date as specified in the subscription. Going forward, the subscription and its licenses will be extended in cloud, not on the dongle.
Any licenses required for other 3Shape software (e.g., Dental System, Ortho System etc.) will remain untouched on the dongle.
What should I do with the dongle once it was moved into cloud?
There’s nothing specific that is expected from you with regards to the dongle. After the dongle was moved into cloud, it can be unplugged from the device as 3Shape Unite 24.1 doesn’t need it anymore, but this is totally up to you. 3Shape cannot provide any specific ways of disposing of the dongle once it becomes not needed. Please dispose according to standard operating procedure or local regulations for disposal of general waste and electronic waste.
NOTE: If during transfer you were notified that the dongle failed to be moved, such dongle should remain plugged in as it might be needed for troubleshooting by 3Shape Support. If you were notified that some licenses will remain on the dongle, such dongle should remain plugged in as it might be used in other 3Shape software (e.g. Dental System).
