Requirements for Integrating a Lab Management System with 3Shape Dental System

Starting with 3Shape Dental System 2020, integration with global Lab Management Systems (LMS) is available to improve efficiency in laboratories using both systems.

The integration synchronizes case information and status between Dental System and the LMS via 3Shape Communicate. This eliminates the need to enter information in both systems and reduces manual work.

The Lab Management System can be used as the primary planning tool, while Dental System remains synchronized in the background. In addition, 3Shape TRIOS orders are automatically reflected in both Dental System and the connected Lab Management System.

Since May 2020, Dental System has been fully integrated with the following providers: JenmarLabtracMagicTouchProtetiko and LabStar.

Requirements for Setting Up Dental System and Lab Management System Integration

The following requirements must be met to configure the integration successfully.

 

From the 3Shape side

Dental System 2.20.1.0 or later is installed.

An active 3Shape Communicate account is available.

3Shape Communicate Integration is enabled in Dental System Control Panel.

Lab Management System Integration is enabled in Dental System Control Panel under 3Shape Communicate settings.

 

From the LMS side

The correct version of the Lab Management System software is installed.

Contact the LMS provider or their support team for installation and setup assistance. 3Shape does not distribute or install LMS software.

The same 3Shape Communicate account is used in both Dental System and the LMS.
