CT scan looks like the cylinder

10/01/2025

Occasionally, users may encounter a situation where a CT scan appears as a cylinder. The cylindrical appearance in a CT scan usually occurs when the software fails to accurately distinguish between different densities, such as bones and air. This issue is commonly associated with uncalibrated CBCT scanners. The visibility settings for CT scans rely on calibrated values to properly interpret the scan data.

Steps to Resolve the Issue:

  • Adjust CT Visibility Settings:
Move sliders to adjust "Bones" and “Air".

If this doesn't help ask client to calibrate CBCT Scanner as the software sets the visibility after calibrated values and send DICOM.
