Lab scanners not turning on

09/11/2023

Sometimes a lab scanner is reported not turning on even if the scanner is properly connected to the outlet.

Potential root causes: Power supply possibly damaged, defective outlet, damaged power cord connector.

Affected Lab scanners: All lab scanners models.

Possible solutions:

  1. Try to connect the scanner to a different power outlet.
  2. Perform a power drain on the scanner. A power drain involves unplugging the power source, as well as any other cables connected to the scanner, and leaving it this way for 20-30 minutes.

After this waiting time, the scanner will be “drained” out of any residual energy and in a “base state”. You can now proceed to plug everything back in and try to turn it on again.

If problem is still not fixed: contact support@3shape.com for further assistance since it is likely the scanner will require maintenance.
