How to enable Tracker integration with Dental Desktop

Prerequisites for the integration:

• Dental Desktop 1.7.19.x or higher. 
• Tracker version 11.30.211008.1 or higher. 
• Tracker and Dental Desktop must be installed on the same computer.  
• Both standalone and client-server setups are supported, see Known Limitations.

3Shape TRIOS on Dental Desktop and Tracker (PMS) integration provides automation of patient management in Dental Desktop from Tracker (Create, merge & update patient) and to open Dental Desktop directly from the patient chart in Tracker for faster and easier workflows and TRIOS scanning.  Read more about Tracker here.

How to enable the integration in Dental Desktop

1.  In 3Shape Dental Desktop, go to More > Settings > Practice Management Integration > Setup and click the "Enable" checkbox in the "Command Line Interface" section to enable the integration.
   
2. Enter valid credentials in the menu; use the same username and password as used for Dental Desktop. Test connection should be successful.
3. You have now enabled the interface used for the integration in 3Shape Dental Desktop. Now you can proceed with enabling integration in Tracker software.

How to enable the integration in Tracker

Integration is enabled automatically in Tracker software.

1. In Tracker, navigate to the Link to ThreeShapeScanner button.
   
2. Search for or create a new patient and then select the needed one from the list. 3Shape Dental Desktop will start and the new patient will be created.
   

Known limitations

• Tracker and Dental Desktop must be installed on the same computer.
• Both standalone and client-server setups are supported (from Dental Desktop version 1.7.19.1), but the integration currently does not support Dental Desktop server-client installation on TRIOS MOVE/MOVE+, as installing PMS client on TRIOS MOVE/MOVE+ is not supported.
• Patient updates are only available from Tracker to Dental Desktop, not the other way around.
