How to enable R4+ integration with 3Shape Unite
10/10/2024Prerequisites for the integration:
- 3Shape Unite 21.1.x or newer.
- R4+ version 8.5.2 or newer
- 3Shape Unite client and R4+ should be installed on the same computer.
- Both standalone and client-server setups are supported, see Known Limitations.
3Shape Unite and R4+ (PMS) integration provides automation of Patient Management in 3Shape Unite from R4+ (Create, merge, and update patient) for faster and easier managing of patient data. Read more about R4+ here.
How to enable the integration in Unite

How to enable the integration in R4+
Please consult R4+ documentation or contact R4+ Support team for integration activation. The following steps are provided as an aid to set up and use the integration in R4+.
- In R4+ navigate to Tools> Options

Click on X_RAY Options, in the list find 3Shape Unite CLI and click to enable it. If you have standard Unite installation on disk /:C the path will be
C:\Program Files\3Shape\Dental Desktop\Plugins\ThreeShape.PracticeManagementIntegration\DentalDesktopCmd.exe
If you have customized Unite installation, click on “Browse” and select location to{PathToDentalDesktopInstallation}\Dental Desktop\Plugins\ThreeShape.PracticeManagementIntegration\DentalDesktopCmd.exe
- To save changes, click OK
You have now finished the integration setup and may use main integration workflows.

- Patient updates are only propagated from R4+ to 3Shape Unite. Not the other way around.
