Dental System Cloud License Migration Process

This article explains how to migrate Dental System licenses from a dongle to the 3Shape Cloud License model and how to activate cloud licenses in new or existing installations. This process simplifies license management and improves flexibility across devices. The steps below are designed to ensure a smooth transition, especially for new users. Migrating Licenses to Cloud License

Step 1: Install Dental System.

Step 2: When prompted, select an existing 3Shape Account profile or click "Create 3Shape Account" to create a new account.

The selected account will become the owner of the migrated cloud licenses.

Step 3: When the Cloud License Introduction notification appears, verify the displayed company name.

Step 4: Click "Next".

Step 5: Review the connected dongle(s) and verify the company name.

Step 6: Select "I Confirm".

Step 7: Click "Transfer" to start the migration.

Step 8: If a message indicates that some licenses could not be transferred, keep the dongle connected and click "Continue".

This may occur when the dongle contains products that are not yet supported by Cloud License, such as Unite or Ortho licenses.

If the migration completes successfully, you will see a message confirming that your licenses have been successfully transferred to the cloud.

Step 9: When the migration is complete, click "Done".

Verifying Cloud License Activation

After the migration is complete, verify that the licenses are being used from the cloud.

Step 1: Open "Dental System Control Panel".

Step 2: Navigate to "Subscription Management".

Step 3: Open "License Service".

Step 4: Verify that "Use Cloud License" is enabled.

Step 5: Confirm that the active cloud licenses are listed.

Activating a Cloud License Subscription

Starting with Dental System version 24.1.0, cloud-native subscriptions can be activated without a dongle.

Step 1: Open "Dental System Control Panel".

Step 2: Navigate to "Subscription Management".

Step 3: Click "Activate Subscription".

Step 4: Enter the activation code provided by your reseller.

Step 5: Complete the activation process to transfer the subscription to Cloud License.

Migrating Existing Installations to Cloud License

Starting with Dental System 2024, if the migration option is enabled on the dongle, Cloud License migration can be initiated manually.

Step 1: Open "Dental System Control Panel".

Step 2: Navigate to "Subscription Management".

Step 3: Enable "Use Cloud License".

Step 4: Restart the PC.

Step 5: Return to "Subscription Management".

Step 6: Click "Migrate Dongle".
