Access Violation in GenericModule.dll

This article explains how to resolve the following error that may occur when using Dental System:

"Access Violation in GenericModule.dll"

The error may occur when:

• Opening an order in Dental Designer or another Dental System application.
• Generating CAM output.
• Closing a Dental System application.

Cause

This issue is caused by a known software defect affecting specific Dental System versions.

Affected versions:

• Dental System 2017 (all patches)
• Dental System 2.19.1.0 (reported)

Resolution

If you are using Dental System 2017, upgrade to one of the following versions:

• Dental System 2.18.1.0 (recommended)
• Dental System 2.17.3.1 (for Basic Package licenses)

If you are using Dental System 2.19.1.0, upgrade to Dental System 2.19.2.0.
