Inlay "Die Interface Model Could Not Be Produced" Error During Margin Line Creation on Die Interface Step

This article explains how to resolve the following error that may appear when creating the margin line on the Die Interface step for crown or inlay restorations:

“Inlay # - Die interface model could not be produced. Unable to define the margin line using the die interface settings. Please try to change the parameters of die interface.”

Root Cause

This error typically occurs when the scan contains holes. If the margin line crosses a hole in the scan, Dental System cannot generate the die interface model.

Resolution

Try one of the following solutions:

Step 1: Redraw the margin line so that it does not cross the hole in the scan.

Step 2: If necessary, return to the preparation step and use the Sculpt toolkit to close the hole before creating the margin line again.
