How to enable CareStack integration with 3Shape Unite
09/12/2025Prerequisites for the integration:
- 3Shape Unite 24.1.x and PMS Web Service version 3.1.x or newer
- CareStack version 10.32 or newer
- Both standalone and client-server setups are supported, please check Known Limitations.
3Shape Unite and CareStack PMS integration provides automation of Patient Management in 3Shape Unite from CareStack (create, merge and update patient) for faster and easier managing of patient data. This integration also provides transfer of clinic photos from 3Shape Unite to CareStack. Read more about CareStack PMS here.
How to enable the integration in Unite

How to enable the integration in CareStack
Please consult CareStack documentation for enabling and configuring integration with 3Shape Unite.
The following steps are provided as an aid to set up and use the integration via CareStack PMS:
- Log in to the CareStack environment.
- Navigate to Practice Settings → Services.
- Ensure that 3Shape is enabled and set as the default imaging software.
- Open a patient chart and select Other Imaging Software.
- Choose 3Shape and a sign-in pop-up will appear — log in using your 3Shape Account. It is recommended to use the admin account of the 3Shape company.
You have now set up the integration.

- Patient updates are only propagated from CareStack to 3Shape Unite. Not the other way around.
