Receiving Dentsply Sirona digital impressions in 3Shape Dental System

From 3Shape Dental System version 2021.2 and onwards, 3Shape labs will be able to receive Dentsply Sirona digital impressions directly into Dental System. There is no longer a need to download cases from the Connect Case Center platform or any other channel. You can receive your TRIOS cases and your Sirona intra oral scanner cases in the same inbox. 

Prerequisites: 

To get started, you will need the following:

• You need to create a free of charge account on Dentsply Sirona's Connect Case Center
• You need to link your Connect Case Center account to your 3Shape Communicate account
• The Dentsply Sirona intraoral scanner inbox in 3Shape Communicate is a separate license. Please contact your reseller for more details and to enable the license

Setting up integration between Dentsply Sirona Connect Case Center and 3Shape Communicate

Instructions:

Please follow the instructions below to set up all necessary accounts (if not already done so) and on how to receive and accept Dentsply Sirona intraoral scanner cases. 

1. Synchronizing your Dentsply Sirona Connect Case Center account with your 3Shape Communicate account
   • Go to 3Shape Communicate Portal and login to your communicate account
   • Once logged in, go to the Integrations tab and find the Dentsply Sirona option in the list
   • Press the enable integration button. A pop-up window will appear informing you of what version of 3Shape Dental System is needed to support the integration. Make sure to verify you are on the right version
   • Click on Proceed
   • You will be redirected to the Dentsply Sirona Connect Case Center login page. Give in your credentials and click on the Login button
   • You will be asked to share the information from your Connect Case Center with 3Shape Communicate. Press Yes to continue
   • You will be redirected to your 3Shape Communicate page and the integration is now activated

Accepting and processing Dentsply Sirona intraoral scans in Dental System

1. Receiving and accepting Dentsply Sirona Intra Oral scans in your 3Shape Communicate inbox 
   • Open your Dental System and go to the 3Shape Communicate Inbox tab. There is now a new folder called 3rd Party IOS. This is where your Dentsply Sirona intraoral scanner cases will appear.
   • Cases will come in as created. To view the order form, right click on the case and click on the Open option
   • When accepting the case you have two different options:

I will design in Dental System: choose this option when you want to design your case in Dental System

I won't design in Dental System: choose this option if you want to design your case in a different design software

• if you decided to design the case in Dental System, the scans will be retrieved from 3Shape Communicate and your case will be moved to the Scanned (3rd party) tab. NOTE: This might take several minutes, depending on the size of the scans.
• Once the cases shows up in the Scanned (3rd party) tab you can proceed as normal and follow the normal TRIOS scans workflow
