Resolving "The Manufacturing Process for the Order Is Not in the List of Allowed Processes" When Starting a Design

08/11/2023

When opening a scanned order in Dental Designer, the following error may appear:

"Unable to load file (The manufacturing process for the order is not in the list of allowed processes)."

The error may also appear as:

"Manufacturing is not allowed for the orders"

Cause

This issue occurs when the manufacturing process assigned to the order uses a manufacturing process method (CADOutput .dll file) that is configured in "Dental System Control Panel" > "Manufacturing Process", but the corresponding output option is not enabled on the dongle.

This article applies to orders with the local manufacturing type.

Resolution

Step 1: Contact support@3shape.com and request that the required manufacturing process option be enabled on the dongle.

Step 2: Update the dongle after the required option has been enabled  (usually it would be the Raw STL export dongle module for default materials).

Verify that the required output option is available

Step 3: Open "Dental System Control Panel".

Step 4: Go to "Subscription Management (Dongle)".

Step 5: Open "Modules and Libraries".

Step 6: Verify that the required output option is available.

Step 7: Open the order again and continue the design.
