"No more saves available in dongle" on Save step in DentalDesigner even if the user has CAD points

Issues with saving designs

When trying to save a design there may be an error message: "No more saves available in dongle for this type of order. Please contact your distributor if you want to change this". Error message appears even though the user has enough CAD points on the dongle.

Affected DS version: any version.

Root cause: The customer has both CAD points and save-limited (demo) Abutment Design, Implant Bar & Bridge Design, Removables or Full Denture license on the dongle, but the demo licenses have 0 saves. This blocks using CAD points.

Solution: upgrade to DS 2.19.1.0 or later

Workaround (if upgrade is not possible):

  1. Contact support@3shape.com and ask to remove demo modules with 0 saves from the dongle;
  2. Update the dongle in Dental System Control Panel and proceed with saving the design (CAD points will be withdrawn according to the selected restorations).
