Resolving "Order Not Supported. Invalid Boundary (Boundary.Count=2)" when opening an order in Model Builder

08/11/2023

The following error message may appear when opening an order in Model Builder after completing the restoration design in Dental Designer:

  • "Order not supported. Invalid boundary (Boundary.Count=2)"
  • "Order not supported. Invalid boundary (Boundary.Count=1)"

When this error occurs, the order cannot be opened for model design.

Cause

This issue may be caused by:

  • Poor scan quality.
  • Incorrect annotation placement.

Resolution

Step 1: Open the order in Dental Designer.

Step 2: Go to the "Prepare" step.

Step 3: Trim the scan.

Step 4: If required, use the "Refine Scans" option to improve the scan quality.

Step 5: Verify that all annotations are placed correctly.

Step 6: If any annotations are incorrect, reset and place them again manually.

Step 7: Save the changes and open the order in Model Builder again.
